Jennette Selig CCCE, CLEC, PD(DTI)

As a certified cooperative childbirth educator, certificated lactation educator/counselor (CLEC), and DTI-certified postnatal doula, Jennette works regularly with expecting and new parents in New York City. She has taught “New Parent Survival” classes at South Slope Pediatrics and facilitated new parent support groups at Bend and Bloom Yoga and The Brooklyn Public Library. Working and volunteering as a full-spectrum doula and lactation support person, Jennette supports families at every stage in their reproductive journey. She is passionate about the concepts of radical hospitality and unconditional accompaniment, and sees her work as an educator and doula in that light. Her frequent, in-home contact with parents and newborns in the first 3-4 months of their lives together enhances her dedication to customized, individualized care and education. Jennette believes every person and family deserves support and is dedicated to inclusive education with no artificial agendas or assumptions. She holds degrees in theater performance and women’s studies from the University of Kansas. A transplanted midwesterner, Jennette now lives in Brooklyn with her partner and son.
