Bonu deCaires CCCE, CD(DONA)
Bonu deCaires has been working with pregnant couples and newborns for nearly two decades. In addition to teaching childbirth education, Bonu is a DONA certified labor support doula. She holds a bachelor’s in biology from Amherst College, and a master’s in nutritional science from University of Massachusetts, where her thesis focused on herbs used in childbirth. She completed one year of postgraduate coursework in Anatomy and Physiology, and is certified in adult and infant CPR. Bonu taught comprehensive childbirth classes and newborn care at Realbirth for six years, and has taught at Tribeca Parenting since 2011. Bonu is also a mother, a member of The Metropolitan Doula Group and a mentor to aspiring childbirth educators through CEA/MNY. Classes offered: Childbirth education including breastfeeding and newborn care. Group classes offered through Pregnancy and Parenting. Private classes in clients’ homes.
