Our Mission

CEA/MNY offers a comprehensive Cooperative Childbirth Education teacher training and certification program. Cooperative Childbirth Education (CCE) was developed by women for women by the renowned educator Gail Sforza (Brewer) Krebs. CCE upholds childbirth as a normal physiological experience for a woman and her partner. CCE teachers believe that birth is part of family life and should be prepared for and anticipated with both confidence and information. CCE Classes are designed to encourage women to recognize their innate abilities to cope successfully with the challenges of labor and birth in any setting.

The CEA/MNY teaching certification program offers up-to-date information on issues surrounding childbirth so that CEA/MNY certified teachers can empower women and their partners make informed choices about labor, birth and parenting. CEAMNY teachers incorporate a wide variety of labor coping strategies and evidence-based information on issues and practices in labor, childbirth education, early parenting and breastfeeding.
